TWO funeral arrangers from the Selby area have gained a Level 3 BTEC Advanced Diploma.
The year-long Funeral Arranging and Administration qualification covers all aspects of funeral laws and customs, caring for the deceased and arranging funerals.
Charlotte Blake, 36, from Monk Fryston, has worked for The Co-operative Funeralcare for 18 months and is based in Whitkirk.
She said: “When a funeral all comes together, families are so grateful. It is emotionally a very hard job but the appreciation you receive is overwhelming.
“The role is very varied and studying to achieve my qualification has really helped me understand the professionalism that is required to ensure everything runs smoothly.”
Rachael Haywood, 42, from Carlton, joined The Co-operative Funeralcare in Selby more than two years ago, after working for the NHS for more than 20 years.
She said “I really enjoy the contact I have with families and being there to listen and advise them.”
