YORK-based developer the Skelwith Group is to start work on a £45 million scheme for 75 new apartments in Bradford.
The apartment building, known as Block A, would eventually form part of the wider development known as Citygate, which will include more than 500 one and two-bedroom flats, which together make up phase one of the development.
The development site is made up of four separate patches of land. Two of them are owned by the Skelwith Group, which resurrected the Citygate plans in 2010 after a previous developer, Asquith Properties, hit financial difficulties.
The Skelwith Group hopes to buy the other two parcels of land to develop them as well, with a spokesman from the group confirming they had started a dialogue with the owners about acquiring them.
The Skelwith Group is also behind the redevelopment of Roman House in Rougier Street, which will become 47 apartments.
Plans to transform the former Aviva offices have now been submitted to City of York Council.
