York Tadcaster Travelodge unveils £300,000 refurbishment

York Press: . .

A NORTH Yorkshire hotel’s £300,000 new look has been unveiled after the work was completed in only four weeks.

The scheme at the York Tadcaster Travelodge, a 62-bedroom hotel next to the eastbound carriageway of the A64 which opened in 1991, has included new room designs and the installation of luxury beds called the Travelodge Dreamer.

It is part of a company-wide £223 million investment in Travelodge’s hotels across the UK, including 14 new openings, refurbishment and maintenance projects, marketing and a revamp of its website. Clare Bloomfield, manager at York Tadcaster Travelodge, said: “The work was carried out with no disturbance to our day-to-day operation and the feedback we have received from customers has been outstanding.”

The refurbishment took place after a 12-month fact-finding exercise with customers on what they wanted to see from Travelodge rooms. The company plans to have refitted more than half its rooms by the end of this year and 85 per cent by next autumn, with more than 50 rooms being refurbished every day during that time.
