Water Brands Group invests in new bottling plant at Harrogate

THE owner of Harrogate Spring Water has announced its largest ever single investment in a bid to quadruple business output.
Water Brands Group, which also owns charity water firm Thirsty Planet, is set to invest £6 million in a new bottling line at its site in Harrogate.
Work has already begun on the 23,000 sq ft extension to the site in Harlow Moor Road, which will more than double the current plant, and introduce the first Krones bottling system of its kind to the UK.
The build is due for completion in February next year, with operations expected to be fully up and running in April.
The move comes after record-breaking trading periods for the firm, which saw gross sales of ten million bottles in July, with Water Brands growing by 16 per cent in the last financial year to more than £8 million.
James Cain, managing director of the group, said: “The bottled water market has never been in a better position. It’s now valued at an estimated £1.7 billion, and we’ve kept ahead of the curve.
“We now need to safeguard and further enhance our offering, which is why we’re investing £6 million in the most technologically advanced equipment available in order to significantly increase the capacity we can deliver.”
