A BREWERY which started life as a farm diversification project has been crowned the overall winner at the Chamber Bridlington And Yorkshire Coast Business Awards.
Wold Top Brewery, based in Hunmanby, also won the Green Business Of The Year Award, its second accolade this year for environmentally friendly credentials after winning the SIBA Best Green Business in March.
The awards come in the tenth anniversary year for the business, which is also a finalist in The Press Business Awards’ Think Green Business Of The Year.
Wold Top Brewery director Gill Mellor, who runs the business with her husband Tom, said: “What a fantastic result. We’re thrilled to have won two major environmental awards, a national award for innovation and the coveted three gold stars from the Guild Of Fine Food in our tenth anniversary year – it’s been a bit of a blur.”
Other winners of the Chamber Bridlington And Yorkshire Coast Awards include Market Weighton-based SG Technical Systems, which scooped Small Business of the Year, All Seasons Bed & Breakfast in Bridlington, which was named Tourism And Hospitality Business Of The Year, and Whitby And District Fishing Industry Training School, which took the Judges’ Award For Innovation.
The ceremony was at the Royal Hall at the Spa in Bridlington and was attended by more than 500 people.
