YORK-based rail operator Northern Rail has been honoured at two industry awards.
With nine entries placed at ACoRP’s (Association of Community Rail Partnerships) Community Rail Awards, Northern Rail triumphed with three projects being highly commended on the night.
The Clitheroe, Penistone and East Lancashire lines were each individually recognised in the categories which included Involving Young People, Community Art Schemes and Best Station Volunteers Project respectively.
Alex Hynes, managing director at Northern Rail, said: “It’s fantastic to see our people and partnerships being honoured throughout the industry.”
Whaley Bridge’s Stephen Sharp scored the double with his third place win in the Passengers Matter category at the ACoRP awards, followed by a first ever, joint first place win in the Station Staff Of The Year award at this year’s RailStaff Awards.
