Barratt’s report big rise in profits

THE house-building firm behind some of York’s biggest developments has reported a rise in pre tax profits of 74 per cent.
Group revenues at Barratt Developments are up 12.2 per cent to £2,606 million, with debt reducing from £167.7 million to £25.9 million.
Its annual results showed average selling prices have increased from £180,500 in 2012 to £194,800, with private average selling prices rising by six per cent.
Group chief executive Mark Clare said: “These are significantly improve results and we have had a very strong start to the new financial year.”
