A YORK businesswoman is aiming to make it easier for full-time workers to own a pet.
Vanessa Westland has opened The Waggy Dog Creche where you can drop off your pet on your way to work, leave it to play all day, then pick it up on your way home.
Based in Hazel Court, off James Street, Ms Westland runs the business with the help of seven volunteers and a groomer.
As well as the creche, the venture includes Woof and Blow grooming salon and Woof and Ride service which picks up and drops off the dogs.
Ms Westland said: “It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while. I realised there wasn’t anything quite like this in the centre of York.
“The aim is we do all the hard work so people can go to work and have a guilt-free day and not worry about their dog.”
Ms Westland also has plans to run evening dog training classes, hosting dog parties and a pet taxi service.
She added: “Hopefully as the business grows I’ll be able to employ the volunteers who have helped me set up the business.”
