A JOBS advertising initiative is to be launched by The Press tomorrow as part of a campaign to help people find work.

Foundation for Jobs aims to help people get back into employment and especially to tackle growing levels of youth unemployment in the area.

The campaign will set out to encourage employers to appoint apprentices, provide internships and develop stronger links with schools and colleges.

Readers will have more opportunity than ever before to see the job opportunities available and advertisers will get better value for money.

The strategy will run for a trial period and will offer free “jobs wanted” ads for all jobseekers and free lineage advertisements for businesses, low-cost box advertisements and two for one offers.

Sarah Kitson, regional recruitment manager for Newsquest, said: “Every vacancy and every job seeker now has an opportunity to appear in The Press totally free of charge.”
