Good response to Hiscox recruitment day

INSURANCE company Hiscox received an “outstanding” response to its recruitment open day.

The company – which is to move into temporary offices in York this year before occupying purpose-built offices and creating up to 300 jobs over the next few years – discussed the roles available within the intended multi-functional York office, as well as wider career prospects within Hiscox.

The open day at the Guildhall on Thursday, hosted by James Scottwood, HR manager at Hiscox, attracted more than 200 people by 5pm, halfway through the event.

Kevin McDougall, group communications manager, said applicants came from a cross section of the York community and some brought CVs to apply for the jobs at the event.

He said: “The open day has been an outstanding success. We’re very impressed with the calibre of applicants we have received.”

The closing date for online applications is on Saturday.
