New look for fish and chip shop

A YORK fish and chip shop has rebranded after years of being part of a well-known local brand.

Harpers Fish & Chips in Tadcaster Road has now become The Blue Fin, after owner Vinnie Singh bought the business from the Harpers chain.

Mr Singh, who has run the business for more than two years under the Harper’s name, said: “The product’s the same but we have just changed the name.”

Mr Singh, who employs four people at the shop, took a career change and decided to take on a fish and chip shop after working in television. “I’ve just always fancied doing it,” he said.

Three years later he has built a loyal customer base and the business will launch its new brand with a £2.99 fish and chips offer from March 11 to 17, during which time it will raise money for St Leonard’s Hospice.
