GROWING York IT services business Trustmarque has grown pre-tax profit by nine per cent to £5 million and its staff numbers by 21 per cent in its 25th year.
The business, which employs 180 people at its base at Monks Cross, increased turnover from £115 million to £131 million for the year ending August 31, 2012. Gross profit also grew 15 per cent to £15.9 million during the most successful period in its 25-year history.
The company, which was listed as one of The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2012, said it had continued to grow, employing an extra 30 people since last year.
It had also developed its services, including a wider range of internet “cloud” services, asset management and procurement services, and services supporting the deployment and use of enterprise applications.
Scott Haddow, chief executive, said public sector business was going particularly well. He said they were having higher level conversations with the chief executives of councils, helping them to save money.
He said: “Despite what seems to be depressing news coming out of the public sector, we’re finding tremendous opportunity out of the public sector to help them save costs. Businesses are wrong to be nervous about public-sector spending, it’s becoming more focused and they are being guided more to spend on the right things.”
Trustmarque has also established a new corporate accounts team, built on graduate recruitment and dedicated to winning new account business in the private sector.
