BUILDING and maintenance business Seddon York has won an award for its projects in the community.
The York operation, based at Clifton Moor, won an internal corporate social responsibility (CSR) award from the company.
Kevin Rhone, head of CSR at Seddon Property Services, said the annual awards acknowledged the best parts of the business, recognising achievements in volunteering, fundraising and recycling.
The York office won the Community Volunteering and Investment award for its work which included helping a local school build allotments and refurbishing the kitchen of a Scarborough community centre.
Mr Rhone said: “Every time we’re doing some work in and around the area, we always try to give something back.
“York has done it each time and gone above and beyond. It’s a great way of building local relations and giving the client added value.”
He said they wanted to highlight the achievement to the rest of the business to raise the bar for other centres.
Nick Haigh, operations manager at Seddon York, said: “Community projects are a part of Seddon York. We have carried out a number of projects this year and it is a great way of building relationships with our clients and the community.”
