YORK clinic Face etc... medispa is to undergo an extensive refurbishment.

The business, based in Coppergate, has already refurbished its waiting and retail area and over the next year plans to update each of its treatment rooms.

The clinic, which offers a range of treatments such as massages, waxing, botox and laser tattoo and hair removal, also plans to redesign its website and develop a mobile website, with online booking, before-and-after photographs of treatments and video tutorials.

The clinic, which has been based in Coppergate for five years, was set up by company director Sharon Moore who, after working in the NHS for more than 20 years, decided to combine her passion for beauty with her medical knowledge by joining a leading Harley Street cosmetic surgery company as an aesthetic nurse.

Sharon quickly saw a strong demand for a specialised advanced beauty clinic in the Yorkshire area and following many months of consultation and research, in 2004 Face etc was born.

It started off in a small four-room premises in Bootham and relocated four years later to its current premises in Coppergate where there are 14 rooms with en-suite facilities including four for aesthetics such as wrinkle relaxers and fillers, skin peels and laser hair removal.

Sharon said continual investment in training the 12-strong team of aestheticians and beauticians in the latest advanced beauty technologies had ensured staff retention and helped the company win Best Clinic in The Aesthetic Awards 2012/13.

She said: “Reinvesting in our clinic is just one of the ways we continue to build on client experience adding extra sparkle and furthering our point of difference.

“With most people feeling the pinch we have had to think out of the box to ensure we are kept busy and have looked for innovative ways of engaging new and existing clients, including extensive use of social media.”
