A DIGITAL media company based at York Science Park has launched a new venture.

Takanomi Limited, based at the Catalyst, has launched vWriter.com, a global crowd-sourced content creation platform, which connects thousands of writers, often recent graduates, with business owners in need of content.

Steve Shaw, managing director of Takanomi, said he moved the business last spring from his home so he could take on staff to expand and pursue new ideas. He also intends to offer video services.

Tracey Smith, York Science Park’s managing director, said: “It is fantastic to see the growth of Takanomi Limited since the company moved to The Catalyst. Its latest vWriter product is an innovative idea which will lead to collaboration with students at the University of York and beyond, taking advantage of the links we have with the university and in the region.”
