Heathrow terminal change for Leeds Bradford flights

NEW flights from Leeds Bradford Airport to Heathrow have been moved to the London airport’s new Terminal 5.

The flights will be reduced from four a day to three a day, with the lunchtime and early afternoon slots combined, but minimum connection times will be reduced, said commercial and aviation director for the airport, Tony Hallwood.

The changes will take effect from March 31.

Mr Hallwood said the move will cut minimum connection times to onward British Airways flights from 90 minutes to only one hour and give passengers access to BA’s business lounge.

He said they had been asking BA to move the flights from Terminal 1, where they have been directed since December 9.

He said the move improved the flight schedules to enable flights from Leeds Bradford to connect with long-haul flights to India, the Far East and North America.

He said: “British Airways decision to transfer Leeds Bradford services into T5 will help to transform the worldwide travel plans of Yorkshire’s regional businesses and leisure travellers.

“With a wide choice of connecting destinations now on offer from Heathrow there has never been a better time to fly locally from Yorkshire’s gateway airport.”
