ARCHITECT David Heath has joined the judging panel of the York Design Awards for 2013.
The former chief conservation architect for English Heritage is currently chairman of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings.
Mr Heath said: “The more historic the context, the greater the design challenge, and that is why it is so important for a city like York to celebrate success.” He replaces Peter de Figueiredo, who stepped down after three years in the role.
Internationally renowned architect Robert Adam will chair the judging panel, which also includes Dr Hendrik Louw, senior lecturer at Newcastle University’s school of architecture, planning and landscape, and York-based architect Stefanie Stead.
The awards will take place in July.
