NORTH YORKSHIRE-BASED food producer Hayloft Foods won a stall at the Yorkshire Best shopping fair through The Press’s Independent Retailers campaign.
Fair organisers Now & Then Events offered the stall at the event for local craft businesses to support independents in the run up to Christmas.
Juliette Brown Forden, a Masterchef finalist who makes the award-winning chutneys, soups and pasta sauces from her own kitchen in Malton, said it was an exciting time for the business, as she rebranded with new labels and looks for funding to enable her to move into industrial premises.
She said she hoped the move would mean she could expand from selling on farm shops and markets to selling into quality supermarkets Booths and Waitrose.
She said: “I’m proud to be Yorkshire and try to use as much Yorkshire produce as I can to support local suppliers. This was a Yorkshire event so I applied and won a free stall, which made it even better.”
