TOURISM body Visit York is to promote spending winter in York with billboard and television advertising in London.
The agency has taken out billboard advertising at London railway and underground stations, including Paddington, Euston and Victoria, as well as in Newcastle railway station. Three-dimensional adverts will also be played on four big screens in Covent Garden throughout December.
Visit York’s York Wrapped Up campaign, which runs until March 2013, is designed to boost bookings in the off peak tourism season Gillian Cruddas, chief executive of Visit York, said: “York Wrapped Up signals the start of an exciting phase for Visit York as we embark on a three-year mission to raise awareness of the city as an ideal holiday and short stay destination.
“We look forward to working with the city’s hotels, restaurants, retailers and attractions to help boost the local economy by £22 million over the coming three years.”
