LOCAL IT business Clearwave Enterprise Solutions has expanded into new premises.

The business has also won key contracts from York and Acomb firm of solicitors Sykes Lee & Brydson and Thirsk charity Clock, as well as launching new services.

The new offices, at 5 Audax Court, Clifton Moor, are double the size of the previous offices at Tower Court, and the business has been restructured, appointing two new staff to bring the team to seven people.

Elliott Chandler, who founded the business in 2008, said: “We have been working really hard with our products and services to make sure they’re attractive to businesses of all sizes.

“We were delighted after a long period of negotiation we were able to secure the Sykes Lee & Brydson contract and migrate the services from a national firm to Clearwave.”

He said the two companies now also plan to work in partnership to provide workshops for businesses about both law and IT.

Clearwave has also partnered with a Leeds-based business, Sleek Networks, to be able to provide its own cloud for customers who want to use web-hosted services rather than buy lots of hardware.

Mr Chandler said that the firm controlling its own cloud meant it could reduce their own and customers’ costs and fix the costs of services, and meant it was not reliant on other firms if things went wrong.

He said: “We have the prototype verified and tested and we now have the technology or platform to be able to deliver our own cloud to our customers.

“We’re able to tailor and refine the service to the needs of the business more closely than we have been able to do previously, and it gives us that sense of confidence that we can get to the issue straight away and detect problems before they affect customers.”

In partnership with Sleek Networks, Clearwave has also developed a niche product for dental practices to meet regulations around data loss and data security. Mr Chandler said this could now be adapted to any businesses facing data regulation, such as financial institutions and law firms.

The business will hold an open day on January 30, from 11am.
