York apprentice wins award

TWO apprentices at Nestlé UK have won awards in the Apprentice of the Year category at the Food and Drink Federation (FDF) Community Partnership Awards.

Engineering apprentice Sam Ward, who is based in Nestlé’s York factory, was named a runner-up for his continued dedication and for excelling in his role.

The company said Sam was a great champion for the company and a true ambassador for Nestlé’s apprenticeship scheme.

He has frequently volunteered to promote the scheme to students at local colleges. Sam is looking to continue his development in Nestlé by progressing to a foundation degree in electrical engineering after completion of his apprenticeship.

HR apprentice Lydia Cebreiro, based at Nestlé’s Gatwick head office, was also highly commended.
