EMPLOYEES at a York PR and communications firm have put forward the businesses for this year’s Employer of the Year award.

As it approaches its 30th anniversary next year, The Partners Group employs a team of eight staff, led by directors Monica Green and Karen Tinkler.

In its entry, staff said: “We think that The Partners Group should be considered as the ‘Employer of the year’ as it is a great place to work, we feel valued, listened to and genuinely cared for and all of our very different individual needs are considered.

“As employees of The Partners Group, we feel we have the opportunity to develop our skills and are equipped with the tools which allow us to be the best we can be.”

As well as encouraging a work-life balance, and subscribing to a health plan for employees. directors Monica Green and Karen Tinkler actively encourage, empower and support everyone to use their skills to make a difference to the communities in which they live and work.

In the community, they go out of their way to support community projects organised by business volunteering charity, York Cares. As well as rolling up their sleeves for Big Community Challenges in and around York, team PA Anneliese Marshall spends an hour each week supporting primary school children through York Care’s Right to Read programme, designed to raise literacy standards.

The Partners team has also run workshops as part of the @Work programme, giving students an opportunity to develop projects to support the local community.

The business also pays industry body subscriptions on behalf of account handlers, which opens up CPD and industry training opportunities for all levels, to ensure team members are abreast of industry issues and learning.
