A HUSBAND and wife duo have combined experience in the property sector with a knowledge of software development in a bid to revolutionise how agents compile property reports.

Terry and Rachel Lightfoot have created TouchRight Software, while allows letting agents and property managers compile property reports via a cloud-based solution, delivered through an app.

By using their smartphones or tables, agents save up to 50 per cent of their time, reducing paperwork and adding more value to their managed fee.

Mr Lightfoot, who has entered TouchRight for the Technology Business of the Year, said: "Previously we used to own a property services business, with a team of people providing outsourced property services to letting agents and landlords, so we had first-hand experience of the challenges faced by busy agents to produce high quality, detailed reports for their landlords in an efficient way.

"We knew many agents were using clipboards, tick sheets, and cameras to provide a report on the property condition to the landlord.

"Combining our skills from our property business, plus experience in software, property and marketing we knew we could create a new software solution that was more flexible with some valuable additional features."

In the last 12 months TouchRight has achieved 150 per cent growth in customer subscription across a wide geographical spread of the UK, from Scotland and Northern Ireland down to the South East and South West.

The company has also achieved award success, winning a Bronze award in the Best Lettings Supplier category of the Sunday Times Letting Agency of the Year 2015.

It was also a finalist in this year's Landlord & Letting Awards for Innovation, and was highly commended in the previous year.

Growth and success of the venture means Mr and Mrs Lightfoot now plan to extend the team over the next year, bringing in staff in a number of key positions including sales, marketing and support.
