WOLDS Edge Holiday Lodges, at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds, has been taking its tourism duties seriously over the past three years.

The holiday lodge business, based just a stone’s throw from York city centre in Bishop Wilton, strives to attract a variety of tourists to the area while remaining ethically and environmentally aware.

The company works to improve its services based on customer feedback. Recently, they were able to add a bike store and a shop area selling products from the lodges, at visitors’ requests.

The small touches also make a difference, as Ruth Rowland, manager, said: "We are proud that much of our produce is made locally including our breakfast basket, shortbread hearts and the art on the walls."

Alongside this, the company has created strong links with its community and offers visitors access to local leisure activities such as cycling, riding and walking, as well as the local tennis courts and discounts at eateries nearby.

Last year, the owners attended customer service training with the whole team trained to the Welcome Host Gold Level Award in customer service in order to provide an outstanding customer experience.

Their new Gold Stars system put in place for staff members rewards those who go the extra mile, showing they are investing in their valued employees.
