SELBY-based G F Foods has spent the last ten years supplying gluten free foods to stockists around the globe.
With funding from the Business Enterprise Fund at times when they needed it most, husband and wife duo Sally and Stuart Allister have been able to fulfil their growth potential and expand their distribution network resulting in export accounts in Europe, Dubai, South Africa and the Caribbean,
Managing Director Mrs Allister, who has entered G F Foods for the Dare to Export Award, set out to supply high quality, great tasting products made without wheat and gluten whilst giving gluten free consumers, like herself, the choice and variety of foods that they are entitled to.
The company’s Feel Free brand which initially was gluten free savoury items now includes other areas such as sweet bakery items, Eastern inspired savouries and a range of wholesome pies.
The quest to identify new markets where her products would be best suited led Mrs Allister to look to the export market rather than risk reaching saturation point through further domestic distribution here in the UK.
Mrs Allister is now expanding the distribution channels in South Africa whilst pursuing further new export opportunities in Europe and America.
G F Foods was initially set up as an internet business by the husband and wife team in 2004.
Fast forward ten years and the business, based in Brackenholme Business park, now employs a team of four and manufactures a range of gluten and wheat-free pies, pastries, buffet food, sweet and savoury snacks and desserts, with produce sourced from around the world.
