BEAUTY clinic Face etc... Medispa has had a winning year.

It fought off more than 7,000 competitor clinics to win the title of Best Clinic in the UK at the Aesthetic Awards 2012-13, was named one of the top five Most Inspiring Medical Aesthetic Clinics in the UK 2013 by industry experts at Professional Beauty, credited as a Clinic of Outstanding Customer Service by client service What Clinic and selected to receive a Premier Award for Professional Services by product manufacturer MD Formulations.

Given a taste for success, it now hopes to win at The Press Business Awards 2013.

The Coppergate business was set up in 2004 by Sharon Moore who, after working in the NHS in a variety of clinical specialties for more than 20 years, decided to combine her passion for beauty with her medical knowledge by joining a leading Harley Street cosmetic surgery company as an aesthetic nurse.

Sharon quickly saw a strong demand for a specialised advanced beauty clinic in the Yorkshire area and four years after opening, the demand had grown so much the business moved from its modest four-room premises to its current three floors.

It is now entering Small Business of the Year with Sharon, who was one of seven women named “Inspirational Women of York” in a photographic exhibition put together to celebrate York 800, is also up for Business Personality of the Year.

The clinic, which employs 21 people, now has 14 treatment rooms with en suite facilities including four for aesthetics such as wrinkle relaxers and fillers, skin peels and laser hair removal.

Following the refurbishment of its waiting area last year, the company is now refurbishing its numerous treatment rooms and upgrading its website.

Sharon said: “My team and I have always been determined that Face etc... Medispa should be an industry leader for advanced aesthetics in the UK. ‘‘Many people traditionally believed that getting the best in advanced aesthetic treatment meant a trip to the country’s capital, but as our nomination goes to show, this simply isn’t true.”
