EVERY quarter I deliver the local church newsletter to about 150 homes and I noticed on this occasion that three homes have either - removed, taped or nailed up their letterbox and placed notices saying that they want no contact with anyone.

EARLIER this year I celebrated my 60th birthday; since then the NHS has taken a particular interest in my health with a postal bowel cancer test and a well-man clinic. Essentially they have given me a health MOT.
KITTY is a traditional Jack Russell and a daily garden visitor who swiftly learnt that she could get a biscuit treat at the kiosk on her way in. Doggy intuition meant it didn’t take her long to realise she could get one on the way out too.
