TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 5th day of March 2018 in respect of the location Numbered (1), (2) and (3) and on the said date in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Act made an Order in respect of the location numbered (4). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (5) and (6).
(1) ST SAVIOURAGTE, YORK
This Order continues The York (St Saviourgate) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2018 (original Order) that Order having an expiry date on the 5th day of March 2018. This is necessary to ensure that high voltage cable connection works and highway reconstruction works being undertaken thereon can continue to be carried out safely. The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on vehicles from proceeding and waiting in St Saviourgate, York between its junction with Hungate and Whip-ma-whop-ma-Gate (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 6th day of March 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 12th dayof March 2018(works period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flow in St Saviourgate is suspended during the period of physical closure to allow two-way traffic flow in the said road when the closure is put into effect. A 'No Entry Restriction will be put into effect at the following junctions:
Garden Place at its junction with Carmelite Street

Hungate at its junction with The Stonebow

During the works period a temporary Taxi Rank (for 12 cars) will operate from the south western side of Garden Place, York. The head of the rank will be situated on the south western side of Garden Place, between points 7 metres and 70 metres north west from the south eastern propertyboundaryline ofTelephone Exchange, therebytemporaryrevoking the 'No Waiting at any Time' and Loading ban restrictions from within that length. No alternative route for the diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(2) WHELDRAKE LANE, YORK

This Order continues The York (Wheldrake Lane) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2018 (original Order) that Order having an expirydate on the 11th dayofMarch 2018. This is necessarytoensure that the carriagewayimprovement works being undertaken thereon can continue to be carried out safely. The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on vehicles from proceeding in that length of the west bound traffic lane of Wheldrake Lane between its junction with Crockey Hill and a point 200 metres east of the said junction (closed traffic lane) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 12th day of March 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 29th day of March 2018 (works period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. Additionally, a prohibition on vehicles turning right from the A19 into Wheldrake Lane will be in place for the duration of the works period. An alternative route for diverted pedestrian and traffic will be available during the works period.
(3) LEEMAN ROAD GYRATORY, YORK
This Order continues The York (Leeman Road Gyratory) (Temporary Traffic Restriction) Order 2018 (original Order) that Order having an expiry date on the 9th day of March 2018. This is necessary to ensure that the traffic signal improvement works being undertaken thereon can continue to be carried out safely. The effect of the Order is to continue in force the prohibition on (i) vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Tanner Row, York between its junction with Rougier Street and a point 14 metres north east of the said junction; (ii) vehicles proceeding in the west bound traffic lane of Station Road between city walls and a point 40 metres north west of the city walls (closed road); (iii) pedal cycles from proceeding in a easterly direction in Leeman Road between its junction with Station Road and a point 90 metres west of the said junction (closed cycle lane) and (iv) pedestrians and vehicles proceeding in the footway on the north side of Station Road between its junction with Station Avenue and a point 20 metres east of the city walls (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 0001 hours on the 10th day of March 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 29th day of March 2018 (works period) or at the end of the works period whichever is the earlier. It is envisaged that during the works period the restrictions will onlybe putintoeffect in the footwayon the north side ofStation Road between its junction with Station Avenue and a point 20 metres east of the city walls. An alternative route for diverted pedestrian and traffic will be available during the works period.
(4) ROUGIER STREET, YORK This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the footpath on the south west side of Rougier Street, York between its junction with Station Road and Tanner Row (closed footpath) during the period when installation works for the bus shelters being undertaken thereon, commencing at 0001hrs on the 6th day of March 2018 and ending at 2400hrs on the 22nd day of April 2018 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period.
(5) BRAMHAM AVENUE, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Bramham Avenue, York between its junctions with Bramham Road and Sanderson Court (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1700hrs on the 20th day of March 2018 (works period) or at time when water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(6) PERCY'S LANE, YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Percy's Lane, York (closed road) during the period commencing at 0800hrs and ending at 1800hrs on the 19th dayof March 2018 (works period) or at a time when works to dismantle/remove a spider crane from within the adjacent site boundary being undertaken by crane operation from the nearby closed road have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
The above temporary Order will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
