ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14 THE A64 TRUNK ROAD
(BRAMHAM CROSSROADS TO ASKHAM BAR INTERCHANGE) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A64 Trunk Road and the A1(M) Motorway, in the Counties of West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire, to enable replacement safety barrier including associated footway, kerbing, signing, drainage and routine maintenance works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start on 8th January 2018 for 5 months, or until completed. The effect of the Order will be, at times during the works, to close Sunday to Thursday nights between 7pm and 6am, Friday nights between 7pm and 9am and Saturday nights between 7pm and 10am, the:

(i) A64 eastbound carriageway from its junction with the A1(M) Junction 44 at Bramham Crossroads Roundabout to the entry slip road at the A1036 Askham Bar Interchange, a distance of 17600 metres;
(ii) A64 westbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Askham Bar Interchange to its junction with Bramham Crossroads Roundabout, a distance of 17300 metres;
(iii) link road connecting the A1(M) northbound carriageway with the A64 eastbound carriageway at Bramham Crossroads;
(iv) link road connecting the A64 westbound carriageway with the A1(M) southbound carriageway at Bramham Crossroads;
(v) A64 eastbound exit and westbound entry slip roads at the A659 Headley Bar;
(vi) A64 eastbound entry and westbound exit slip roads at the A162 Tadcaster Ings;
(vii) A64 eastbound entry and westbound exit slip roads at the A659 Tadcaster Bar;
(viii) A64 eastbound and westbound exit and entry slip roads at Bilborough Top and the A1237 Askham Bryan;
(ix) A64 eastbound exit and westbound entry slip roads at the A1036 Askham Bar;
(x) ban vehicles from entering or leaving the A64 westbound carriageway at its junction with Slice Lane and Paradise Lane; and
(xi) ban vehicles from entering or leaving the A64 eastbound carriageway at its junction with Catterton Lane, The Old Street and the unnamed road leading to Cat lane and York Road. During the closures, suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times. It will also be necessary, for 24 hours a day, at times during the works, to:
(xii) impose a temporary 40mph speed restriction on the A64 eastbound carriageway from its junction with Bramham Crossroads Roundabout to the exit slip road at Askham Bar Interchange, a distance of 16400 metres;
(xiii) impose a temporary 40mph speed restriction on the A64 westbound carriageway from the entry slip road at Askham Bar Interchange to its junction with Bramham Crossroads Roundabout, a distance of 17020 metres;
(xiv) impose a temporary 40mph speed restriction on the above link roads and slip roads as described in (iii) to (ix); and
(xv) close the laybys adjacent to the eastbound and westbound carriageways as described in (i) and (ii).

Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works, or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 7 January 2018 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
