ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -SECTION 14
THE A64 TRUNK ROAD (GRIMSTON BAR INTERCHANGE) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A64 Trunk Road, in the City of York, to enable carriageway and footway resurfacing, kerb replacement, installation of traffic loops, road marking, road stud, bridge joint replacement, traffic signal upgrade and cyclic/routine maintenance works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to start on Friday 1 September for 1 month, and will take place Sunday to Thursday nights between 7pm and 6am, Friday nights between 7pm and 9am and Saturday nights between 7pm and 10am. However, if necessary, the works will continue between the same times over subsequent nights until completed. The effect of the Order will be, at times during the works, to close the A64 eastbound and westbound exit and entry slip roads, the roundabout and including adjacent cycle tracks, at the A1079/A166 Grimston Bar Interchange. During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available. It will also be necessary to impose, at times during the works, a 10mph speed restriction on Grimston Bar Roundabout. The 10mph speed restriction will only apply when, for safety reasons, traffic has to be escorted through the works by a highway maintenance vehicle. Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restriction (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works, to anyone engaged in the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 31 August 2017 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months. The contact for any further information about this notice is Jill Thornhill, telephone: 0300 4702593, e-mail: jill.thornhill@highwaysengland.co.uk.
