PICKERING Edward Rutherford Jane and the family of the late Edward Pickering would like to extend their grateful thanks to everyone who attended the celebration of Ed's life on February 10th and made such a unique and memorable occasion. The collection raised £1,800 for the Hospice at Home service, which is a wonderfully generous amount. Thanks again to The Hospice Team for providing such wonderful care to Ed in his final days. Grateful thanks to all the medical people involved in Ed's care and those who helped him throughout his battle with asbestos related cancer: Castle Hill hospital, Dr Orr and staff, Alison Greenhaulgh and District Nursing team, plus invaluable support from Judith Seagrave, Macmillan nurse. Special thanks to Margaret Jenkins, Civil Celebrant for a wonderfully uplifting service which managed to ensure Ed's life was truly celebrated. Thanks to Hayley Owen, Funeral Director for taking care of Ed, being supportive and sorting the funeral arrangements. Thanks to York's Sports Club for the excellent bar and catering service provided. Finally, a massive thanks to the overwhelming amount of people who sent cards, gifts, donations etc. and provided wholehearted support to Jane, Graham and family. It meant a lot to us and is helping us to deal with our devastating loss.
