WHITEHOUSE Jack Of Darlington, born November 17th, 1924 in York and died September 28th, 2015, in Darlington Memorial Hospital. Much loved and loving husband to Mavis, devoted dad to Janet and John, father-in-law to David and Barbara, special grandad to Jill, Sarah and Lucy and great-grandad to Ben and Emily. Funeral Monday October 12th, at Darlington Crematorium, at 2.45p.m. Jack was a Normandy Veteran serving with The Kings Own Light Infantry as part of the 49th Division (The Polar Bears) in the liberation of Europe. He was awarded a Croix de Guerre. The family are proud of Jack's achievements and would welcome donations in his name in lieu of flowers in aid of Help for Heroes and may be given at the crematorium.
