SEGO SUCCESS can make amends for his early departure in last year's Betfred Classic Chase by landing today's main event at Warwick.

Alan King's charge was sent off the 7-1 favourite for the three-mile-five-furlong feature but he tripped up early on and that was the end of his challenge.

While he appeared none the worse for that tumble, he has yet to really regain the sparkle he had shown before Warwick, finishing fourth in the Grimthorpe last March before failing to fire on his final outing last April.

Sent on his summer break after that, Sego Success made a satisfactory return when third at Bangor in November but could not build on that, finishing only fourth when favourite for a fair handicap event at Doncaster last month.

The good ground appeared to be against him that day and the positive of his slightly negative recent form is that he has slid back down the handicap and lines up here off 140, a full 6lb less than he was due to shoulder last year.

Obviously Sego Success is not in the same excellent form as 12 months ago but his lower mark, combined with a return to more testing conditions, can see him make his mark as today's nap selection under Wayne Hutchinson, albeit 12 months later than punters might have liked.

PEREGRINE RUN can bring up his five-timer in the Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle.

Trained by Peter Fahey, the seven-year-old kicked off his run at Down Royal back in August and has added triumphs at Gowran, Limerick and Cheltenham since.

That latter Grade Two victory in November appears to represent some pretty strong form as runner-up Wholestone has since gone on to win a race at that level himself.

Peregrine Run is upwards of 4lb clear on the figures and while the ground may not be ideal, his class can see him through as Roger Loughran takes the reins.

AMERICAN made quite a splash when winning on his fencing bow at Exeter and is the one to be on in the Betfred Mobile Hampton Novices' Chase.

Harry Fry's runner made every yard to easily account for Label Des Obeaux and this looks an obvious next step on the ladder under Noel Fehily.

After the dramatic announcement of its planned closure earlier in the week, it is business as usual at Kempton and VANITEUX can prove a very apt winner of the 32Red Casino Chase.

His trainer Nicky Henderson is a huge fan of the Sunbury track and the first of a number of leading National Hunt figures to issue a rallying cry in defence of the venue.

Vaniteux has turned in three fine runs at Kempton in the past, including when narrowly edged out at Grade Two level by Ar Mad last Christmas.

He found Sire De Grugy standing in his way at Ascot on his reappearance, and then Cheltenham under top weight proved too tough a test last time, but he is well worth another chance with Paul Moloney in the saddle.

The 32Red Lanzarote Hurdle is the feature event and JALEO is a cautious pick to take the handicap spoils.

Now with Ben Pauling, after John Ferguson bowed out of the training ranks, Jaleo made an excellent start for his new team when winning at Lingfield last month.

He won with plenty in hand and a 7lb hike may not be enough to stop this lightly-raced individual from banking a nice prize with Alex Ferguson as pilot.

CHIC NAME was pulled up at Uttoxeter last time but should be given another chance in Wetherby's Racing UK In Glorious HD Novices' Chase.

Grade One-placed over hurdles last term, the five-year-old has plenty of ability but something was clearly amiss last time, while Buveur D'Air was just far too good for Chic Name on his chasing bow at Haydock.

This looks an easier task for Richard Hobson's charge and Chic Name can take full advantage with Conor O'Farrell on board.

CHESTER STREET, ridden by Josephine Gordon, is seeking a hat-trick for Roger Charlton in the sunbets.co.uk Handicap at Lingfield.

The four-year-old has taken some time to find his groove but now he has two wins on the bounce in the bank, he can keep up his progression.

IMDANCINWITHURWIFE can make a victorious return from the best part of a year on the sidelines in the sunbets.co.uk Handicap at Wolverhampton's evening meeting.
