CASTLE Howard Ox 'B' ace Sandra Bruce will defend her York John Smith's Ladies Darts League title against York City Supporters captain Tracey Farmeary tonight.

The Ox player confirmed her advance to the fin al after defeating Fulfordgate captain Michelle Britton 2-0.

Bruce hit a vital ton in the first leg to edge in front before a double five check and a great 121 established a solid lead. A first dart double ten check sealed the win.

Farmeary had to negotiate a tough tussle against Carole Layne of Tramways.

The City skipper closed double tops after a 140 put her in command, but despite a ton start from Farmeary, steady scoring from Layne and a missed 78 closure gave the Tramways ace the upper hand to check out on double eight.

Farmeary opened the deciding leg with a ton before Layne hit back with a 133. Scores of 60 were traded before Farmeary hit a ton, then missed a 140 shot out only to secure the win with a double one.

Farmeary also went through to the triple final alongside City team-mates Tina Platt and Clapham with the captain top-scoring to knockout out Ox 'B' trio of Sue Tate, Denise Fowler and Maggie Tottie.

The other semi-final was claimed by Fulfordgate's Britton, Dawn Exton and Lynn Thompson after they edged out Ox 'A' threesome Bruce, Flossie Crampton and Wendy Shortle 2-1.

Shortle and Crampton though won through to the pairs final. They toppled the Marcia mother and daughter team of Sue Smith and Faye Hawksby, who suffered from a series of missed finishes.

Exton and Britton will take on the Crampton-Shortle axis, Exton hitting a 140 in the victory over their Ox opponents.

Fulfordgate captain Britton and vice-captain Exton will be in opposition in the Elsie Bell drawn Pairs.

Britton will partner Jubilee's Tracey Yeomans. They knocked out Farmeary and Jubilee captain Heather Bulmer.

Alongside Exton in the final will be Green Tree captain Alison Buckley, who accounted for Tramways captain Sue Lowery and City Supporters newcomer Lauren Buckley.

The finals night will be at the Tramways Club tonight, starting at 8pm.
