MANAGER Dave Ricardo is demanding a response to Selby Town's "worst performance of the season".

The Robins lost 4-3 at lowly Winterton Rangers in Northern Counties East League division one last weekend, and Ricardo has promised changes for tomorrow's home clash with Shirebrook Town.

The Flaxley Road chief said: "It was really poor and those standards are not acceptable.

"Hopefully it was just a blip. It was down to attitude rather than a quality issue. Now it is down to whether or not they guys want to work hard for each other.

"We are still in touching distance but we can't afford any more hiccups. There will be changes being made for a number of reasons, form, injury and unavailability."

The Shirebrook visit is the first of three home games, with Ossett Albion next up in round one of the West Riding County Cup on Tuesday before an FA Vase tie against Bacup & Rossendale Borough a week tomorrow.

"We are unbeaten at home so we are optimistic," said Ricardo. "We should - and can - beat anyone in the league and higher. The issue is attitude and application.

"When we apply ourselves, we are one of the best teams around."

Danny Gray and Nathan Kamara are back in the squad, but Jamie Forrester and Matty Start are playing against Shropshire for the East Riding County FA's youth side.

Knaresborough Town travel to joint leaders Clipstone.

The FA Cup has reached the second qualifying round stage and a trio of North Yorkshire sides are involved.

Harrogate Railway Athletic are at Colwyn Bay, Scarborough Athletic face a trip to Curzon Ashton and Harrogate Town host Stockport.
