JACOB BLACK, winner of both his races this season, can complete a hat-trick in the feature race at Catterick this afternoon.

The gelding, trained in Lanarkshire by Keith Dalgleish, is a slow-maturing type who has been given time to strengthen. He has won at Hamilton and Carlisle this season and looks to have more to offer.

Jacob Black runs in the Eat Sleep Drink Nags Head Pickhill Handicap with North Yorkshire jockey Tom Eaves in the saddle. He should prove a tough nut to crack.

Eaves has good prospects of completing a double on the card aboard Perfect Blossom in the Racing Welfare Charity Camel Racing Today Handicap.

Alan Berry's seen-year-old, who has been running pretty well this summer, is well berthed in stall two and is entitled to run a big race.

York jockey Robert Winston, pictured, can make his mark aboard Giovanni Jack in the Barries Ices And Refreshments Handicap over two miles.

The four-year-old has struck form with a vengeance in the last couple of months and has won two of his last races. A 6lb penalty for his latest Musselburgh win may not prove impossible for him to defy.

The nap vote is awarded to Asteroidea in the 2014 Catterick Twelve Furlongs Series Handicap. A Ripon winner two stars ago, Pam Sly's filly has since finished second at Pontefract. She can continue to progress.

Paul Midgley can clinch the Racing Again Saturday 20th September Handicap with Irish Girls Spirit.

Graham Lee's mount, who is well drawn in stall four, finished second to Perfect Words on her latest start and may be able to go one better.

Midgley can also make his mark at Carlisle with Choc'a'moca in the Betfair Novice Flat Amateur Riders' Handicap.

The mount of Alex French, the seven-year-old has been in fine form all summer and was successful on his latest start at Redcar.

Ollie Pears is enjoying a good time of things at present and was over the moon at Beverley on Sunday when stable stalwart Noodles Blue Boy, ridden by his wife Vicky, who dotes on the gelding, won Britain's first-ever race for stable staff by a runaway margin.

Pears relies on Al Khan in today's Watch RacingUK Sky 432 Handicap over a mile. The five-year-old has been in good form since joining Pears' Norton yard in early summer and is a course winner. He has yet to win over this trip, but hopes are high that his stamina lasts out. Jake Butterfield has the mount.

Brian Ellison could hardly have his horses in better form and Senor George could be another winner for the Norton trainer in the Join Now At Rewards4Racing.com Handicap. He was a winner on this course two outings ago and has since finished third at Musselburgh. This longer distance may eke out more improvement in him.

Also worth noting in Cumbria are Summer Times (2.30), who is overdue a winning turn for Mark Johnston, and stablemate Late Shipment (5.00), who is a consistent performer and who will have the assistance of the in-form Joe Fanning.
