BRYAN SMART is dreaming that Moviesta can be picture perfect this time at the Welcome To Yorkshire Ebor Festival.
The Sutton Bank trainer has the four-year-old, part owned by Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp, in line for another shot at the fastest race of the four-day extravaganza - the £265,000 Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes next Friday.
“I’m a Yorkshireman so to go to the Ebor Meeting with some good chances is what it’s all about. To get a winner is the dream,” Smart said as he contemplates the week ahead.
Moviesta went to the Nunthorpe 12 months ago on the back of a stunning victory in the Group 2 King George Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.
But he finished last in York’s famous dash and has not been on song earlier this season - disappointing in the Duke of York Stakes on Knavesmire and the Darley July Cup at Newmarket.
Smart believes, however, that he is starting to return to form and he was a slightly unlucky third to Take Cover when defending his crown at Goodwood.
The trainer was pleased with that run, saying: “Moviesta is really well.
“We are heading to the Nunthorpe and I am very happy with him.
“He ran really well at Goodwood and he has been in terrific form since.
“Fingers crossed for a clear run between now and next Friday.”
Smart is also looking forward to running unbeaten juvenile Fendale in the £200,000 Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Gimcrack Stakes on the final day of the festival on Saturday.
The son of Exceed And Excel has won both his starts to date, a maiden at Beverley and a conditions race at Musselburgh.
Smart added: “Fendale is a nice colt and the plan is to run in the Gimcrack.”
