BIG-HITTING youngsters Tom Young and Chris Bilton propelled Woodhouse Grange into their sixth Lord's final in the Davidstow National Village Cup.
The 21-year-olds put on 220 for the fourth wicket as the Sutton-on-Derwent side recovered from 28-3 in their semi-final at Milford Hall to total 298-9 from their 40 overs.
Young, striking the ball firmly and timing it cleanly, hit an astounding 155 off only 88 balls, with 14 fours and 8 sixes.
Bilton intelligently fed him the strike, but still had time to make 75 off 89 balls.
After their remarkable partnership, Woodhouse fell away slightly but Mike Hattee added a stylish 27.
When Milford Hall replied, Steve Burdett (2-24) removed the openers, both caught by Andrew Bilton.
Three home batsmen reached the 30s, but none went on to seriously challenge the target.
Left-arm spinner Josh Jackson took 3-41 in his nine overs, two of them stumped by Mike Burdett.
Jackson also added a smart direct hit run out, as Chris Suddaby cleaned up the tail with 3-18.
Their final total was 172 all out in 36 overs, 126 runs short.
Woodhouse’s opponents in the Lord's final on Sunday, September 7 will be Great and Little Tew from Oxfordshire.
