YORK'S greens giant Simon Dyson was walking tall again as he smashed through the ten million barrier.

Dyson finished tied for fifth place in the BMW International Open in Germany just one shot adrift of making a play-off for a crack at his seventh European Tour crown.

But for a lone bogey on the 12th in yesterday's fin al round, the 36-year-old would have secured a place in the play-off.

That was finally won by Paraguay's Fabrizio Zanotti over Rafa Cabrera-Bello of Spain and Frenchman Gregory Havret.

However, the reward for Dyson's stunning 18-under-par tournament total at the Gut Larchenhof course in Cologne was a cheque for almost 72,000 euros.

That hurtled him through the ten million euros barrier in career earnings since he turned pro in the year 2000. He only needed a shade under 9,000 euros from the BMW International to take him past that cash milestone.

Even more significant for Dyson will be his likely move up several scores of places in the world rankings, which are announced later today. Before his Cologne drive he was place in 151st place.

Dyson posted rounds of 69, 66, 69 and a second 66 yesterday when he had three birdies in the outward nine and after dropping a shot on the 1th posted four birdies in the last six holes, including finishings with shots to the good at 17 and 18 as he pressed for a play-off place.
