THE big story in division four east was the feat of Brandesburton’s Chris Fisher against Patrington.

His haul of ten wickets for six runs from 11.4 overs of which seven were maidens, was the second best bowling return in the League’s 101-year history.

Fisher clean-bowled all ten of his victims and he took a hat-trick to get his tenth wicket. Due to his outstanding performanace, Patrington perished for 54.

Division four west leaders Hemingbrough have a 37-point advantage over their nearest rivals after beating bottom-placed Woodhouse Grange IV by eight wickets.

Martin Gilbank made 30 in Grange’s 76 as Tom Shepherd claimed 5-17 and Granville North 3-19. Matt Milburn then made 32 no as his side cantered to victory.

With a previous highest score this season of 19, Adam Thomas upped his game to hit 100 as Pocklington made 236-6 against Rowntrees & Huntington. Dan Croft made 31 when he retired hurt and Geoff Woodward 44.

The latter then proved to be a match-winner with the ball. His 6-25 had the home side all out for 107 with only Paul Horner, who made 27, showing real resistance

Copmanthorpe head division four central by 49 points after clocking up their seventh win in nine outings. Latest to feel their force were Civil Service, who lost by three wickets.

After Civil Service fell for 136-7, Chris Groom (44) and Roy Atkinson (30) sealed victory.
