SIXTH signing snapped up, York City boss Nigel Worthington revealed more arrivals were imminent at Bootham Crescent.

Rearguard sentinel Dave Winfield has followed left-back Femi Ilesanmi, goalkeeper Jason Mooney, right-back Marvin McCoy, striker Jake Hyde and left-winger Anthony Straker into the City squad for the 2014-15 campaign, which starts on Saturday, August 9.

Asked whether the Winfield acquisition was the last of his summer wheeling and dealing, Worthington said: "No. I would like another one, maybe two."

He declined to specify what areas of the team could yet be reinforced, but he said that work was going on in the background to sanction more business so he has his desired squad in place.

"It's about getting the right balance," said Worthington.

"We've pretty much got the people that we want and those that were to go from the club have gone. Now we're building on top of the group of last year."

Worthington acknowledged that expectations within the club and its supporters had heightened after last season's drive into the League Two play-offs.

"That's part and parcel of the job," he said. "It's important to everybody to step up to the mark and to get a great honest bunch of players together.

"We will give it everything we have got. If it happens great, if it doesn't it won't be for the lack of trying."
