Another big lad... 6ft 3... played 17 times for Shrewsbury in league 1 last season, over 200 career games, looks on paper a decent signing...

With Danny Parslow still sidelined it was important to sign some cover for our centre backs. At six foot three, this lad will fit the bill. Quite a bit of experience, and he has scored the odd goal or two, so thats a plus also. He should be a useful addition to our squad.

I think our motto should now be 'They shall not get past us'. After shipping goals by the lorry load early last season, thus preventing a challenge at automatic promotion, this group of players will present a formidable challenge to any opponent. The players are in place early so the squad will form strong bonds and will generate a sense of high quality competition for starting places.
What great potential this season offers. Let us have a quiet optimism rather than the trumpeting and fanfares that set us up for a fall. I would love to get off to a great start and watch the other teams' fans' reactions!!
Come on City!!

A good, solid and sensible signing with Parslow being injured still. The defense looks strong now. Now to finish building the midfield and attack.

Wimbledon have signed Matt Tubbs on loan, this is a bit of a coup for them and didn't expect to see him playing in league 2 again.

what next another center forward heard one name already linked to us but im not going to disclose who it is..but could be a great signing and a shock if it happens.but we still need a central midfielder, and then our team is complete and ready for the coming season...

Welcome to the club Dave, I'm sure you'll be a big success based on NW previous defensive signings. Competition at centre half and with the pace we now have at fullback I wonder if 5 at the back is going to be a regular option?

Need that creative midfielder and another winger and we are sorted.

I think this means he hasn't heard any name and simply wants to seem he is 'in the know'

He may have been talking about Curtis Main from Midlesborough who is rumored to have signed a contract for City.

I fail to understand the tendency on here to slag off Brodie, a player who had a brilliant goal scoring record for York. OK so he left Bootham Crescent. So have many others.

Not sure you are aware what the word slag off means, so I will inform you. slag off means insultingly to, or about some one, or thing. I am not sure on here anyone has done, as of yet.

No slating from me, cannot remember a player in recent years that once he got going put so many in the back of the net, just a bit one dimensional needed balls playing ahead of him into the box to strike or fall over under the defenders attentions, definitely need a midfield capable of providing quality service though.
On a more likely note we look like continuing being a hard to beat side with our recent signings. Any one know how the season ticket sales are going as this is a good indicator of our regular attendance.

I know a main that knows a man that was talking to a man about a man,, I don't know what you know Yorkie, but there is a strong rumour a striker is in the pipeline, my information is a loan, I was at a schools tournament two Saturdays ago at Midlesborough and talking to a man who knows a man. Make of that what you want.

never post comments on here but after scouting for over 25 years and close to people in the game its geat to read views and opinions of others. I will let you know that Billy Paynter was approached very recently, as recent as friday gone infact but thats all i know and Cressie was involved so it might come through but there again approaches and signings are two completely different matters
