YORK missed out on a place at the Solly Sports Yorkshire ECB County Premier League Twenty20 finals day after a thrilling tie with Harrogate.
The Clifton Parkers beat hosts Driffield by 40 runs in their first game of the round-robin qualifying stage yesterday, but missed out on the finals as Harrogate had matched their score but lost one fewer wicket.
York batted first and totalled 152-9 from their 20 overs
York won their opening game against hosts Driffield by 40 runs in front a crowd of 1,000.
Liam McKendry top-scored in York's 179 with a well constructed 73, backed by brother Ryan McKendry's 30 and Simon Lambert's 26.
Lambert, Ryan McKendry, Tom Forsdike and Jake Murphy then took two wickets apiece to cement the win.
Champions York remain top of the league standings after all of Saturday's fixtures were washed out.
