York City chairman closing in on fresh duo signings

YORK CITY chairman Jason McGill is hoping “one or two” transfers will be concluded before the weekend.
Manager Nigel Worthington has already indicated he has agreed terms with two new players and McGill, speaking after Michael Coulson put pen to paper on a two-year deal at City, said he was hopeful deals could soon be formalised.
McGill indicated that City would be targeting select players who would add immediate quality to Worthington’s team, rather than bringing in a rash of new faces.
Added the City chairman: “I don’t think we are going to have a big squad - I don’t think the manager wants that.
“Lots of teams say they are going for quality over quantity but that is what we are going to do.
“We’ll probably have 18 or 19 and supplemented with a young player or two but that will be it.
“We’ve already had long negotiations with other players that are going to add value to the football club.
“So, hopefully, we will be able to conclude one or two prior to the weekend - hopefully.”
