FLEETWOOD Town boss Graham Alexander said his side must "do it all again" on Friday night despite having a 1-0 lead following the first leg of the League Two play-off semi-final.

Alexander said he expected York to "come at" his side and added that all the first leg victory had achieved was give the Cod Army a "half-time" advantage.

"I thought when the boys had to defend they did so bravely and intelligently," he said of Fleetwood's display. "We made it difficult for York to break us down. They are a good team and they create pressure - especially after we went 1-0 up.

"I thought we hit them a couple more times on the break and it is a shame we couldn't (extend the advantage) but we would have taken 1-0 before that.

"Even if we had got a couple more it still wouldn't have been over. It's 180 minutes and the play-offs have a history of throwing things up so we have to guard against that but it was the way we won 1-0 that was pleasing.

"The result was the most important thing.

"We played some really good football at times but we have to do it all again on Friday. We haven't done anything apart from give ourselves a half time lead. We know that as a staff and players. We've got a lot of experience in there and we have already spoken that we know York will come at us because they have to score to get back into it."
