PADDY MATHERS, who returned to winning form last week with successes at Redcar and Thirsk, can continue his good run at Beverley today in the feature race on the card.

Mathers, who is attached to Richard Fahey's Malton stable, rides for his boss in the £10,000 Swan Industrial Drives Handicap aboard Ingleby Smphony.

The jockey, who won on the four-year-old at Ayr last backend, was also in the saddle when Ingleby Symphony made her recent reappearance on the same course and finished a good second, beaten less than a length.

That outing should have done her good and, off bottom weight, Ingleby Symphony is fancied to provide Mathers with his third winner in under a week.

Fahey, pictured, also has other winning chances on the card. In the opening Mayday Raceday Maiden Stakes, the Musley Bank trainer saddles Clouds Rest, who made an encouraging start to her career at Nottingham a fortnight ago when finishing a good second to her more experienced stablemate Burtonwood. She is well drawn in stall one and should go well under Tony Hamilton.

Fair Flutter, a winner here last season and successful on his final start at Nottingham in October, reappears in the Brian Brown 'Open All Turnstiles' Retirement Handicap.

In the Peter Walford Memorial Handicap, Grasped is an interesting runner from Lady Cecil's Newmarket yard. Unbeaten in two outings on the Polytrack at Lingfield, Grasped looks a potentially talented colt. This is a different test for him on turf, but he is not to be underestimated. Graham Lee rides.

Former Hambleton trainer Les Eyre, back from Spain, where he has trained for the last decade, sent out Real Tigress to win on this course last month. The five-year-old has every chance of following-up in the Racing Again on Tuesday 13 May Handicap.

Tim Easterby does not have too many runners at Warwick and it may be significant that the Great Habton trainer has sent Hayek to the course for the Art Kitchen Warwick Apprentice Handicap.

The seven-year-old should have benefited from his comeback outing at Newcastle. He will have the assistance of Rachel Richardson, who has ridden three winners for her boss Easterby in the last few weeks.

Paul Hanagan may prove to be the jockey to follow at Warwick. He has a couple of winning chances aboard Rise Up Lotus and Munaaser, both of whom are bidding to step up on their seasonal debuts.

Rise Up Lotus shaped well in sixth at Newmarket last month and would surely not need to improve much on that effort to lift the British Stallion Studs Maiden Fillies' Stakes. She earns the nap vote.

Munaaser, who runs in the Breeders Backing Racing Maiden Stakes, was a beaten favourite on his reappearance at Pontefract last month. That was a

slowly-run race that developed into a sprint finish and it seemed to catch out Sir Micheal Stoute's colt, who had shown plenty of promise on his only outing as a juvenile at Yarmouth. He can surely do better this time.

North Yorkshire raiders, Bousatet (3.40), trained by Kevin Ryan, and Richard Fahey's Mfiftythreedotcom (5.25), who ran a good first race of the campaign at Beverley last month, are also worth a second look.
