RICCALL United beat Copmanthorpe 3-2 to keep alive their slim premier division title hopes in the York Minster Engineering Football League, writes Graham Ireton.

Riccall’s total came from an own goal and strikes by Andrew Best and Luke Crowther, while Cop’s Mark Feathers scored twice.

Dunnington won 2-0 at Dringhouses thanks to strikes from Olly Newby and Grant Bulmer.

In division two, Cliffe moved up to fourth with a 5-1 win at Wilberfoss with goals from Tom Robinson, Ryan Sedman, Jack Healey, Si Houlder and Sean Gallagher. Chris Allan scored for Foss.

Riccall United gained promotion from reserve ‘B’ with a 6-4 win over Stamford Bridge.

Riccall led 6-1 with goals from Chris Coxon (3), Martin Howson, Richard Sowden and Thomas Wright, but had to endure a nervy end to the game.

The Stamford Bridge haul was made up of strikes from Greg Ashcroft (2) and Matty Taylor, plus an own goal.
