Donald McCain, who took Wetherby by storm on Sunday by winning the first three races on the card, can continue his successful spree at Kempton today.

The Cheshire trainer has booked Barry Geraghty for Desoto County in the Marley Eternit Novices' Hurdle and the ultra-consistent gelding is fancied to return to winning ways.

Last time out at Bangor, Desoto County was denied by half-a-length by Irish Cavalier after looking the most likely winner for most of the race. He had previously scored at Kelso and has created a favourable money-spinning profile this season. He should be hard to beat.

Geraghty looks set for a productive afternoon. The top jockey can also win the opening Sands Cove in the opening Sika Liquid Plastics Seamless Handicap Chase. Charlie Mann's charge is overdue a winning turn after a third-placed effort at Sandown and a good second at Newbury on his latest start.

Act Alone can be another Geraghty-ridden winner in the Kiober Roofing Accessories Novices' Hurdle.

The five-year-old, trained by Nicky Henderson, has raced only three times this season and was a winner at Doncaster on his second start. He has since been a beaten favourite at Market Rasen, but it would be hasty to desert him already and this looks a good opportunity for him to get back on top.

Kilmurvy, who represents Jeremy Scott, may be the answer to the Tor Coatings Liquid Waterproofing Handicap Hurdle.

The six-year-old has been running well lately and his good fourth to Upswing at Newbury in February on his latest start puts him in here with a leading chance.

The nap vote is awarded to Kung Hei Fat Choy at Southwell's Flat meeting.

Trained by James Given, the five-year-old has won three times on this course, the latest coming on his penultimate start over six furlongs. He has since gone down narrowly in third at the same venue over seven furlongs. Back to six today, he should take plenty of beating in the safe hands of Graham Lee.

The Southwell begins with a modest claiming race but with an appearance by the most successful horse ever to race on all-weather surfaces.

Stand Guard has won no fewer than 26 times on an artificial surface. He can make it 27 under Tom Queally by getting the better of Lean On Pete, who will, however, not go down without a fight for Ollie Pears and Jacob Butterfield.

Charlie Hills, who was one of several high-profile trainers to compete in Sunday's London Marathon - Richard Hannon and David Simcock were among the contingent - looks to have found a good opportunity for Bajan Beauty to break her duck in the Ladbrokes Maiden Stakes.

The mount of William Carson, Bajan Beauty falls a good deal short of the top flight of Hills' three-year-old crop, but she did show a fair level of ability in three starts last season as a juvenile which included a third-placed effort at Beverley.

Freddie Tylicki and John Jenkins have proved a potent force on the all-weather tracks in recent months and Ray Of Joy can be another winner for the pair in the 32Red Fillies' Handicap.

Although she seems to go especially well at Kempton, Ray Of Joy seems pretty versatile and it is to be hoped she can step up on last week's Kempton runner-up performance, beaten only a length, in this five furlongs dash, which may not take much winning.

Jack Garritty, teenage son of former top Ryedale jump jockey Russ Garritty, has his first mount for Mark Johnston aboard Travel in the 32Red.com Apprentice Handicap.

Travel has won two of her last three races, both at Wolverhampton. If she can adapt to this surface, she has leading prospects of obliging again.
