RELEGATED Malton & Norton RUFC will sign off from North One East at Cleckheaton tomorrow.

The Gannock-based club’s stay in the league was ended by Driffield last weekend and head coach Chris Creber and his men only have pride to play for as they end their campaign in West Yorkshire.

Pocklington finish their North One East year with a tough trip to Sheffield.

Two months ago Pocklington would have been hot favourites to win in the steel city as Sheffield were marooned 11 points adrift at the foot of the table having been in bottom spot all season.

But they parted company with their coach and set off on a remarkable revival that has seen them win their last six games and have a real chance of avoiding relegation if they can get something out of tomorrow’s clash.

In the same period, mid-table Pocklington’s campaign has meandered along with just one win out of six.

Pock name a squad of 19 that includes back five forwards Dan Wilson and Marcus Britland and midfield backs Pete Massie and Dan Elliot, who were all unavailable last week.

While the season ends for most of the region’s outfits this weekend, York still have three games to play. The Clifton Parkers travel to Acklam almost guaranteed a maximum haul.

The Teesside-based club haven’t won any of their 25 games and have only picked up a measly four bonus points. Andy Kay, Russ Bowers and Darren Rutherford are among the squad that travels north.

A satisfactory season back in Yorkshire One ends for Selby at North Ribblesdale while York RI can make sure of seventh place in Yorkshire Four but they must beat champions Old Otliensians.
