PIKE Hills Golf Club have re-affirmed their commitment to redesign their 18-hole course.
The Tadcaster Road-based club have re-submitted to City of York Council a planning application, which is for “change of use of 7.7 hectares of agricultural land to a golf course.”
Pike Hills club secretary David Winterburn explained that the original planning permission for the planned redevelopment of the course had elapsed. That has prompted the new bid.
“The plans have already been drawn to redesign the course to make it longer,” said Winterburn.
“The plans are there but the planning permission has run out, so this is just a matter of re-submitting the plans for approval.”
If the plans are again approved the club will still have to raise the cash to fund the redesign proposals, added Winterburn.
